Automotive Tariff Information
Update: 4/10
A lot has happened with the tariff situation. The situation is very fluid and has created some confusion. Here is the latest:
- On April 2nd, President Trump announced reciprocal tariffs on every country in the world. They ranged from 10% to 46%. Yesterday, a 90-day pause was announced on the implementation of these tariffs, with the exception, of China, which has been increased to 125%.
- However, this does not apply to Automotive - The 25% tariff on all imported vehicles and parts will remain in effect. This affects virtually 100% of the vehicles sold in the United States at some level.
So, what does all this mean? If you are in the market now for a vehicle or plan to be in the near future, it may be a good time for you to buy. Any level of tariff will have an impact on the cost and pricing of vehicles. None of our in-stock vehicle MSRP's have been impacted by the situation. In addition, we will continue to maintain our policy of not charging over MSRP, now and in the future.
If you're not in the market but know that you may have an upcoming service need, it may be a good time to take care of that as well. Imported parts will be affected by the 25% tariffs, and most are predicting parts price increases, in addition to vehicle prices.
Regardless of what happens going forward, we remain committed to partner with you in all of your automotive needs, as we navigate any potential future challenges.
We will continue to keep you updated as we learn more.
